Lateral Senior Research Fellowship Selection Process:

JRF/SRF in scientific disciplines are recruited through CSIR.

JRF is recruited through national eligibility test held in June and December every year.

When JRF completes his/her 2 year tenure in research organization then a interview can be conducted by the committee, which takes the decision to extend the tenure to 3rd year.

After the completion of 3 year tenure, JRF is considered for the position of SRF.

Review of the performance as JRF is a crucial factor that decides the fate of candidate in Lateral Senior Research Fellowship.

Who can extend the tenure of JRF as SRF in CSIR:

The committee reviewing publication/work of research fellow can recommend the extension of tenure. Which is extended by the director of CSIR lab.
